  • There are many kinds of events that take place across the world every day, and most of them take careful planning.

  • Generally, when guests arrive at a spectacular wedding or massive conference, they are almost entirely unaware of the months that have gone into planning each tiny detail that can make or break an event.

  • Most of these events are best planned with the use of “event planning equipment,” also known as “the tools that will help make an event a success!”

  • Though it’s impossible to discuss in this article every tool that helps with event planning, the major pieces of equipment that make the most difference are the ones that deal with the most basic parts of the planning.

  • One of the top pieces of event planning equipment is a budget program. Events run on money, and those funds need to be planned ahead of time; however, it’s proven that those planners who mentally keep track of the money will inevitable break the bank. A budget program such as Quicken or Microsoft Money (or numerous others!) can help plan costly event details in advance, keep track of where each penny has been spent, and even organize charts or anything else that will be helpful.

  • While they haven’t been around forever, computers – in today’s world – are crucial in event planning. Yes, it is still possible to plan the intricate details of an event without a computer, but it is not recommended! Whether you’re keeping extensive mailing lists, filing all of your event contracts, handling your budget and online bill pay for the event, keeping all event-related emails in a single folder, researching and corresponding with other event planners, or anything else, a computer helps simplify the process and make it more efficient and error-free!

  • In the planning of most events, some amount (and possibly large amounts) of mail is sent and received. Mailing equipment can help make all handling of mail simpler and quicker. There are machines that moisten and seal envelopes, others that open them, while still others print and fold your brochures and invitations. Some pieces of mailing equipment will even print the proper postage, address, and “mail” your envelopes.
