  • Do your employees have business related Internet access? If so, look for a cash management system from a bank that can offer your business the ability to designate log-on names and security clearance for your employees. This will allow them to send wires and interact with certain cash management features, per your approval.

  • If your company is one that receives a significant amount of payments in the mail, you can have your bank set up a post office box on your behalf. The payments can then be sent to the bank, which opens and deposits those checks. This procedure is referred to as a lockbox.

  • Sometimes check fraud is a real concern for a business. If avoiding check fraud is one of your main priorities, look for a cash management program that offers positive pay. This is a service in which your business electronically shares the check register with the bank and the bank harvests that information such as amount, payee, check serial number, etc. to identify the checks as they come in and will only process those which line up with the register 100%.
