  • Counterfeit money is a huge and growing problem. Some bill counters come equipped with counterfeit detection built into them, though the level of detection differs with the different grades of bill counters.

  • Bill counters can generally count stacks of currency, as well as checks and/or coupons, depending upon the size requirements of the machine. They eliminate errors caused when each bill is manually counted one at a time.

  • To use a bill counter, place the material to be counted into the tray of the counter. The machine takes the money up through the machine and counts, batches, adds, and checks for counterfeit.

  • Bill counters that will handle international currency should come equipped with digital options in order to customize the counter to the length, width, and worth of the bills to be counted.

  • Different bill counters are designed to process different amounts of currency per minute. The amount of cash that can be placed into the hopper is dependent upon the amount the stacker can hold as the bills run through the machine.

  • The stacker is the portion of the bill counter where the money sits, counted and stacked, until someone comes and manually removes them from the machine and bundles them.

  • Some bill counters have microprocessors. These are small computer circuit systems inside the machine, which enable it to perform its various functions from the touch of a key.
